Welcome

My inspiration for pursuing a doctoral degree at this time in my life (age 56) is because of several losses: my daughter, mother, son, brother, and my husband and life partner of 34 years. My rationale for returning to school is I now have the time to fulfill a dream, I thought was not possible. I have chosen to apply for the Adult,  Professional, Community Education Doctoral (APCE) program because the design and structure is for individuals like myself, individuals with a broad array of professional and educational experience and knowledge. Working with a team of seasoned faculty and field professionals will be critical to my learning and producing a work product that is of value and useful in the ongoing personal and professional development of adult learners. My work would also honor the memory of those I have loss and provide a better future for me, and my grandchildren.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
